Do You Know How You Come Across?
Do you know how you come across in an interview?
The question I pose is more than enough to cause me to think. I find the question intriguing on many levels because I don’t believe that most people truly know how they come across when exchaning information about who they are and what they bring to the table during an interview.
I believe that most people reading this post, will immediately answer “yes”, rather than stopping and truly thinking about how they come across.
Do you have presence? When you walk into a room do they know you are there? If not, you don’t have presence. People with presence have a way of shifting the atmosphere in a room. Whether they are talking or not, people know they are there. Do you have presence?
Do you exude confidence when you walk into an interview? Confidence - Stresses faith in oneself and one’s powers without any suggestion of conceit or arrogance. How do you increase your confidence? Preparation! The more prepared you are for an interview, the more at ease you can be walking in the door. If you have an interviewing strategy, an offensive plan, you can walk into an interview with confidence. Confident in your ability to communicate your skills and abilities and to compete for the job.
Do you have energy when you walk into an interview? Or are you sluggish and lethargic? Do you exude life? Are you alive?
