Does Anyone Out There Need a Job?
Does anyone out there need a job? Boy, have I got just the job for you - The Democratic National Committee needs a Voting Consultant. Someone who can take the mess going on in Florida and Michigan and resolve it. The confusion going on with seating the Democratic Delegates is foolishness more than anything. Why you may ask? Well, from my perspective, the decision has already been made. When the rules of engagement were agreed on by all the players (I don’t know who they are), along with those rules were consequences for not playing by the rules. So where is the argument in this debate over delegates? Why do some of the rules apply in the US, but others don’t?
Let me take a moment and give you my disclaimer: I am not a democrat. You’re welcome to guess my party affiliation, but I am not a democrat. I am however an American citizen and I believe in fair play. I believe in standards, I believe in “yes” means “yes” and “no” means “no”. I believe in negotiation, but not at the expense of one “party” for the other. This issue of seating the delegates is a non-issue to me. Each state, Florida and Michigan, moved up their primary, and that was against the rules. They made the choice, and I would prefer that Howard Dean would hold their feet to the fire, and stand by his word that the delegates won’t be seated and move on. It is foolishness to try to come up with a fair way to “fix” something the states for all intents and purpose brought on themselves.
Should every American get an opportunity to vote in a primary or national election? ABSOLUTELY! But think
about it like this, typically if you break the laws of the land and go to jail, you lose your opportunity to vote. In this case, the state officials broke the law of the party. Rules they agreed upon. Once that happened the “right to vote” becomes in jeopardy. That is what I see. But…… if you disagree with any part of what I am saying, then you may be the perfect candidate for the job as DNC Consultant of Voting. Give Howard Dean a call. Tell him how you propose to resolve this foolishness so that all parties are playing on an equal playing field. If you want a place to share your ideas, scroll down and tell how you would fix this fiasco.
