Five O’Clock and Counting
In my efforts to find resources that will help job seekers fine-tune their job search I stumbled on a book, “The Five O’Clock Club Job Search Workbook.” The wealth of information contained in the workbook is invaluable to a serious candidate. The workbook has everything from sample cover letters, tips on networking, interviewing and salary negotiation.
Do you know who the Five O’Clock Club is? I had no idea. The Five O’Clock Club is a national career counseling network with certified career counselors across the United States. Here is a direct quote from the workbook about what they do: “The Five O’Clock Club uses a methodical, organized approach to the job search. You will learn about planning a job search campaign and measuring its effectiveness, writing cover letters and resumes, preparing for the interview, turning job interviews into offers, and negotiating the best possible employment package.” Their approach works for people looking for a regular paying job and also for those looking for consulting work. This is only a taste of what the workbook offers. There is so much more!
I want to work through their workbook so that I can speak intelligently about it to those of you who may need some help to find your next opportunity. As I work through the workbook, I will give some feedback and share what I am discovering. Check out the Five O’Clock Club at their website.
More to Come!
