How Would Your Manager Describe You?
How Would Your Manager Describe You?
This is a great question for interviewers to ask candidates. In the world we live in perception is reality. This question is about perception - specifically your perception of how others see you.
I believe that in every game of life, the team that scores the most points wins. I believe that principle is equally true in the “game of interviewing!” You must score when given the opportunity. Every time the interviewer ask you a question, you have an opportunity to score. What comes out of your mouth is “evaluated and scored.” The more they like your answer the more points you will score. The less they like your answer the fewer points you will score. The person who scored the most points, will get the offer!
This particular questions is a free ball question. Free ball, meaning - you are free to answer how you would like. In the game of volleyball it is a scoring opportunity. This is a great opportunity to pick up valuable points in the game of interviewing. Describe your strengths and abilities. It is important that you operate from integrity and communicate who you are. Don’t make up something here. Your answers should be in alignment with what you have already communicated in your resume and cover letter.
Example of what you could say:
-
“My manager would say, Darlene has a tremendous amount of energy, and that she is willing to go the extra mile to ensure success on any given assignment or projects. She would say that Darlene will take projects and assignments to another level. She would say I am quick learner and she would say I am confident that when given an assignment it will be accomplished.”
