Let’s Get to Work
Darlene has already introduced me (thanks, Darlene!) but I wanted to do a quick post to say hello. I’m really excited to be one of the newest members of the team and appreciate Darlene giving me the opportunity to co-author Interview Chatter with her.
I live in the Chicagoland area where I am a manager at a large metropolitan hospital. I consider myself sort of an Interview Geek. I’ve always been fascinated by the interview process and after every one that I participate in, I love to assess what worked and what didn’t work. Since interviews don’t make for the best social conversations (I still don’t understand why!), I’m thrilled to have Interview Chatter as an outlet to share the valuable information I’ve learned over the years.
Since you are reading this blog, you are probably looking for help with some interview that you’ll be participating in soon. Take a look around the site – it’s full of great information. And if you didn’t catch Darlene’s Secrets of the Job Hunt Podcast last week, be sure to check it out. During her podcast, she offered lots of great information including how to answer the dreaded “tell me about yourself” question. I also love all of the posts under the Influence category. Since the interview process is all about persuading the hiring manager that you are the perfect candidate for the job, it’s important to be really good at the art of persuasion.
To all the Interview Chatter readers - are there topics you’d like us to cover here? If you have an interview coming up and need help with a particular area, please leave a comment and we’ll work those topics in.
Until my next post, I’ll leave you with a funny article I recently read on what not to say in an interview.
