Marketing 101 - March Theme

by Darlene McDaniel on March 1st, 2007

First of all, can you believe it is March? It is and as far as I am concerned it got here very quickly! I am excited to write this month because I believe that many of you will be reading this blog for the first time. If you are a first time reader, “WELCOME!” I would love your feedback, so feel free to leave a comment. I have been writing this blog since about the middle of December and this month, March 2007 Tough Questions? Great Answers! will be launched by B5 Media. Yippee!!

My husband suggested I come up with a theme for this month and I actually listened to him and here it is: Marketing 101! I will be writing as many posts as I can fit into my days and weeks about how you as a potential candidate can Market yourself and get the job you want to get. I personally don’t believe in settling, but I would be lying if I said, “I have never settled for a job.” I have and so have you!

So what about Marketing 101 and how will it help you get the job! Here is a brief summary of where I am going this month.

Marketing 101 - Theme for March 2007

Marketing is sales, and yet it is more than sales. Marketing is about creating a compelling strategy that literally pulls in consumers to buy. This entire month of March will be dedicated to giving you tips, tools and advice on creating a compelling marketing strategy that will help you market the most important product you will ever sell - YOU!. Are you the Ideal Candidate? We shall find out. Specifically, we will discuss the Product, Positioning, Place, Price and Promotion - the 5 P’s of Marketing. I will take these 5 categories and tie them to the hiring and interview process throughout the month. I will also throw in some surprises so put your seatbelt on, grab a notebook and enjoy the read!
