Season 7 - The Apprentice - Week 2
Introduction to Week 2: Stephen Baldwin had the opportunity to present the winning check from last week’s win to his mother’s charity for the Caroline Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund. It was a beautiful moment in the show.
Hydra’s ad was brillant. It was excellent! How they got there was based on years of experience, and skill.
Week Two Task: Pet Adoption Month - 30 Second Commercial
Each team was given the task to create a 30 second ad for the Pedigree Adoption Drive. Each ad will be judged on message, origniality and creativity. The winning team Project Manager will win $20,000 for their charity.
Empresario’s planning session went from visualization to meeting with the client to clarify the vision. According the client from Pedigree, ”celebrity is great, but what we really need are stories about dogs, done in emotional and compelling ways that get people to act “- to adopt a dog. The ladies worked fairly well together, but Nadia Comenci seemed out of place and uncertain.
Hydra, had a two-headed monster leading them this week. Gene Simmons as Project Manager and Stephen Baldwin as tactical lead or in their words, the director of the production. Despite the success from last week, Gene Simmons and Stephen Baldwin, ignored their team. It was more about their “brillance” and their teammates were in the way. Yuck!
In the end, despite the fact that Empresario’s commercial captured what the client asked for, Hydra created an excellent commercial. I didn’t particulary like the way they arrived at their finished product, but it worked for them. I loved their commercial.
This episode was a huge disappointment for me. From an entertainment perspective, it had its moments, but in the end, I was left wondering how we ended up with Nadia Comenci being fired. Don’t get me wrong, I understand Nadia had to go. Probably better now, then later, but she was such a non-issue in the loss that it seemed unfair. Which happens every day in the world of business. As a result - The men in the midst of their madness won, the ladies, lost and Omarosa, lives to see another day!
