I was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, but in 2001 I moved to Chicago and I love it here! Before moving, I had a decade long career as a lab technician but always wanted to go back to school to learn something completely different, so I did it. At thirty-something, I began taking night classes. My major was Sociology until one day a Pathologist that I worked with in the lab said “ohhhhh you want to be poor” (in a thick Turkish accent) when I told him I was getting a degree in Sociology. After that, I changed my major to Organizational Behavior and graduated a couple of years later. Now I’m a Healthcare Administrator by day and at night and on weekends I write a lot.
How did I start blogging? Well, in the summer of 2007 I planted a vegetable garden and started a blog about it and I was hooked right away. I still love to garden and I still write about my gardening and DIY conundrums on my personal blog My Skinny Garden (insert www.myskinnygarden.blogspot.com). Now I’ve decided to take this blogging thing to a whole new level. I’m glad to be part of b5media as a blogger for the Business Channel where I’ll by trying my best to help a few folks have some great job interviews.
